Gibney: Agnes Varis Performing Arts Center
280 Broadway (entrance at 53A Chambers St.)
Exploring the lives of individuals impacted by gun violence, THE ASSIGNMENT, written by
Camilo Almonacid and produced by Houses in 2017, is inspired by the true story of an
unlikely friendship between a mother whose teenage son was murdered and a man who
served 17 years in prison for manslaughter. We’re honored to have award-winning
actors KAREN KANDEL and ERICK BETANCOURT reprise their original roles for this
one-night event.
Tara’s Crossing

Groundbreaking when first produced in 2004, the play has been used as a training tool
at law schools nationally.
