Tara’s Crossing is one of the first plays ever to deal with the little known issue of asylum for sexual minorities in the U.S. a remedy that has been available only since 1994. Inspired by a true story, this full-length play recounts a transgendered asylum-seeker’s remarkable flight from Guyana and her uphill battle to prove her claims of persecution from within the confines of U.S. Immigration Detention.
